Tonight: Charter Amendment Hearing on Minimum Age for Mayor and Council

Tonight is the public hearing on the City Charter amendment to lower the minimum eligibility age for Councilmember or Mayor to 18. Come out and make you voice heard at City Hall at 7pm!

Current District 1 Councilmember Kabir summarizes some of the arguments for and against the amendment on his website here, and there is more background on the proposal available from The Gazette available here.

The Diamondback’s Alicia McCarty also covered the issue back in 2010 when the City Council rejected a similar proposal.
