We’re proud to announce the recipients of our first two grants: The University of Maryland’s Office of Community Engagement and the College Park Arts Exchange.
The grant to the Office of Community Engagement will help fund their ongoing partnership with Paint Branch Elementary School, in particular preparing students to perform well on required standardized tests.
The grant to the College Park Arts Exchange will support their new Adult Choir. The Choir will explore a variety of songs, from popular music to classical, with offerings from The Beatles and Queen to Vivaldi and Mozart.
We thank everyone who applied for this year’s grant cycle and look forward to an even greater response next year. To learn more about these projects and how to support them, please join us at the Winter Gala!
P.S. The College Park Arts Exchange is also raising funds to pay for a new piano for the Old Parish House. You can make a contribution to the piano fund here.
UPDATE (12/15): We have just added a third grant for 2013, this one to the College Park Woods Neighborhood Watch, for updating and distributing a neighborhood guide to residents. Congratulations to all three groups!
