The College Park Community Library and the Committee for a Better Environment will present a series of environmental movies on the 3rd Monday of each month. Movies will start at 7:00pm and most movies run 1 hr. 15 min. There will be a discussion afterwards.
September 16th – dirt! The Movie “Thought-Provoking!…welcome humor and visual pizzazz.” – Variety “An invigorating look at an invaluable substance we take for granted.” – Los Angeles Times.
October 21st – Taking Root Tells the dramatic story of Kenyan Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Wangari Maathai whose simple act of planting trees grew into a nationwide movement to safeguard the environment, protect human rights and defend democracy.
November 18th – Tapped From the plastic production to the ocean in which so many of these bottles end up, this inspiring documentary trails the path of the bottled water industry and the communities which were the unwitting chips of the table. A powerful portrait of the lives affected by the bottled water industry, this revelatory film features those caught at the intersection of big business and the public’s right to water.
January 20th – The World According to Monsanto From Agent Orange to genetically modified crops a biotech giant with your best interest at heart. Roundup-Growth Hormone-PCB-GMO-Glyphosate-Agent Orange-Roundup-Posilac etc.

April 21st – Fresh New thinking about what we’re eating. “An exhilarating look at the whole range of efforts underway to renovate the way we grow food and feed ourselves” –Michael Pollan, Author
