Thanks to those of you who came to the College Park Steering Committee meeting on June 27, we got a lot done and are making good progress toward establishing an Advisory Board for the Foundation! Our next meeting is coming up soon and we’d love to see all of you there.

We are currently in the process of finalizing our Guiding Principles. Please look these over and e-mail your thoughts to the discussion list (firstname.lastname@example.org) so that we can discuss possible changes. Areas covered include committee descriptions, leadership positions for the Advisory Board, and roles and responsibilities for the Advisory Board members.
Two important things to consider:
1. The Advisory Board description includes a minimum required $100 donation for members of the Advisory Board committee. This amount was discussed by the folks at last week’s meeting as being affordable, but still requiring a solid commitment from members of the Advisory Board. It would also, with the $1,000 committed in this year’s budget by the City of College Park, to allow the Advisory Board to get started with a basic fund and build off that with fundraisers over the next few years.
2. The documents include job descriptions for officers of the Advisory Board. Please consider putting yourself forward as a possible Officer of the Board, whether it’s Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary or Treasurer.
